Pre-Registration
Teams that are interested in participating must submit their qualification material before the deadline. The qualification procedure is dependent on the division and league. Please contact the chairs and co-chairs of the event if you have any further questions.
The pre-registration process is separate for all the teams, the team leader, and team members. When pre-registering a team, you need to include the information for a "point of contact" for the team. In addition, to pre-registering your team, all team leaders and team members need to register as a Faculty member, Staff member or Student participant.
FIRA Sports, FIRA Challenge, and FIRA Air
The qualification consists of two parts: (1) A max. 5 min long video showing the performance of your robot in the various sports events, and (2) a research paper (max. 12 pages in Springer LNCS format).
Videos
Videos must be uploaded to a publicly accessible video sharing site such as youtube or Vimeo. Post a link to the FIRA official registration website, available in http://firaworldcup.org
Team description paper (TDP)
All teams from should submit a team description paper (TDP). The TDP is limited to 4 pages maximum and must be submitted in PDF format. This report fully describes the scientific aspects of your robot system and your research interests include a summary of previous relevant achievements in research and development as well as publications and mentions a prior performance in FIRA competitions.
The TDP must follow the LNCS format which can be downloaded from http://www.springer.com/computer/lncs?SGWID=0-164-6-793341-0. Please pay special attention to the “Author guidelines” that you’ll be able to find there. Teams that do to follow the LNCS formatting and style guidelines will not be qualified.
Research Paper
The Easychair website for submission is https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=fira2019. Note that there is no additional fee for teams submitting a paper to FIRA 2019.
Registration
Only qualified teams should complete the registration process and pay the registration fee.
REGISTRATIONS ARE ONLY COMPLETE WHEN PAYMENT IS RECEIVED. ALL FEES ARE IN US DOLLARS - CURRENCY (USD). Please have your credit card ready at the time of registration. No registration is considered complete until full payment is received.
The necessary documents including the Invitation letter for the VISA application will be sent to the participants at the earliest convenience after the registration is COMPLETE. If you have questions, please send an email to [email protected].

Pro Leagues Individual – Faculty who do not have teams, but want to register for the competition can register as a non-participant. No prior registration of a team is required in these cases. These participants are invited to all social events, but may not enter team areas and do not receive a FIRA RoboWorldCup 2018 Taichung certificate. We strongly encourage everyone to register as early as possible. Please avoid on-site registration, as we may be forced to reject on-site registrations due to space limitations. Nobody will be admitted to the site and to the team areas before being fully registered and all payments have been received. There will be no exceptions. Long waiting hours may be incurred at the onsite registration.
For the additional league, teams should complete the pre-registration steps, stay for qualification results, provided by their leagues, and contact [email protected] before completing the payment process.
Youth Leagues Registration - Dates and Fees
Teams that are represented by a FIRA Chapter must qualify and register via their FIRA Chapter.
Teams that do not yet have a chapter may contact FIRA HQ directly for qualification. In this case, they should submit a two-page write-up in English describing their previous experience in robotics and their motivation for joining the FIRA competition.
In addition, participants that would like to take part in the United Nations Mission must submit a two-page write-up in English describing their previous experience in robotics and their motivation for joining the United Nations Mission.

We STRONGLY RECOMMEND teams to register ALL TEAM STUDENTS AT ONCE.

Youth Parents/Mentor or other Youth coaches need to register as Youth Parent/Mentor for permission to enter the site at any time, to be admitted to certain restricted areas, and to participate in social events.

Registration of teams in multiple categories, leagues, and sub-leagues
The following rules apply for registration of teams in multiple categories, leagues, and sub-leagues.

Categories: There are four categories in FIRA: FIRA Sports, FIRA Challenge, FIRA Air, and FIRA Youth.

Each category has several leagues: HuroCup, AndroSot, RoboSot, SimuroSot, Hurocup Junior, Youth Wheeled, Innovation and Bussiness, Warehouse Robot Challenge, Autonomous Cars Challenge, Drone
Each league may have sub-leagues. The following list is the list of categories, leagues, and sub-leagues for the FIRA 2018 competition.

For teams in the FIRA Sports, FIRA Challenge, and FIRA Air categories as well as teams:

A team can enter multiple sub-leagues as long as: (1) all the sub-leagues belong to the same league, and (b) the team name, affiliation, and team members are exactly the same for the all different sub-leagues.
For teams in the FIRA Youth category:

A team can enter at most three sub-leagues as long as: (1) all the sub-leagues belong to the same league, and (b) the team name, affiliation, and team members are exactly the same for the all different sub-leagues.
You can participate in more leagues and sub-leagues, but in this case, you must pay an extra registration, even if you use the same team name, affiliation, and team members. Furthermore, it is the responsibility of the teams to ensure that their schedule does not collide with other sub-leagues.
Country Visas and Cancellation Policy
Participants from some countries require a tourist visa to enter South Korea.
For those who need a visa, here is the policy:
The necessary documents including the Invitation letter for the VISA application will be sent to a team member once the team registration and the team member registration have been completed, i.e., payment has been received. There will be no exceptions.
The following cancellation procedure applies, should:

The visa application was not successful; and
-
The registration was completed (i.e., payment received) by June 15, 2018; and
-
The cancellation is requested before July 18, 2018,
Then:

The full registration amount will be refunded, except for a handling charge of $50 per person for Youth leagues, and $100 for the Pro leagues' team if the whole team is canceled. Otherwise, there is no refund.
